Michael Sparrow, Chief Regulatory Officer

Michael has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with significant expertise in regulatory affairs, product development and licensing across pharmaceuticals (ethical and OTC), devices, cosmetics and food supplements.

Prior to becoming an independent consultant in 2009, he was co-director of Pharmaxis Ltd, a pharmaceutical regulatory affairs and drug development consultancy which specialised in the licensing of ‘abridged’ pharmaceuticals. Before that he held senior regulatory positions at Trinity Pharmaceuticals (now Chiesi Ltd) and Norton Healthcare (now TEVA EU).

His diverse experience also includes technical roles at Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis), SmithKline Beecham (now GSK) and he maintains a strong commercial awareness having also previously held sales and product management roles at Pfizer.

Michael is a graduate in pharmacy from the School of Pharmacy, University of Portsmouth and is a qualified pharmacist and member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. He is also a member of The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA).
